Several large wetlands were impacted by the fire, many by fire suppression efforts. The resiliency of these areas is remarkable and most were very lush in the spring of 1995. They also provided suitable breeding habitat for amphibians. Amphibian surveys had not been done prior to the fire, however, following the fire both western toad (Bufo boreas; depicted) and spotted frog (Rana pretiosa) breeding sites were identified.
